- How did the first story you ever wrote influence your career as an author and how do you feel about that story now?
The first story I ever completed was Let Me Show You, even though it was my second release. It was a novel I sat on for over a year before I told my author wife, Louisa Masters, about me having written and completed this title. I was a nervous wreck. The whole “putting myself out there” almost held me back, even though as soon as I’d hit The End and self-edited numerous times I was so happy with the final pre-edited product.
Once I’d finally gotten it into edits and received feedback, I received that extra reassurance, validation even that what I’d produced was both readable and enjoyable! It was this first feedback that gave me the boost I needed, and there’s been no looking back ever since.
Funnily, May 18th 2021 was the two-year publiversary of this title, and I’m now seven stories into this series, which was not what I expected at all. Readers are so fabulous and supported this book so much that it was clear more was needed in this world.
The title in many ways shaped my publishing career, especially regarding my brand of feel-good, sexy romance. And now? I still love the book and am so proud of my first novel.
- Which of your characters is most like you (or someone close to you.)
Each character has a piece of me in them, whether a reaction, a particular attitude, or a shared experience in some way, just like I borrow the same from people I know. Tanner, for example, is very much like my husband, though a little more serious, which Frankie has a shared humour with my hubby too.
- What is your favorite trope and why?
I love friends to lovers romances, yet only really have dipped into this trope more recently with Our First and Last and one of my WiPs. The characters having an established history helps me to connect with them a little, and even though I love a cheesy meet-cute, that first kiss or moment of realization in a friends to lovers can offer a mighty fine swoon.
- What are you working on next?
I have four WiPs on the go at the moment. I’ve just finished High Alert, however, which is just about to go off for edits. This is an Aussie small-town, friends-to-lovers romance. Finally! J It’s actually a big expansion of a 7,000 word short I created for a charity anthology last year, raising funds for those impacted by the destructive Australian bushfires. I’ve turned it into a 60,000 full-length novel, and I’m so happy with the outcome.
I know readers are eager for Pete’s story, Outback Boys book 3, but I’m almost halfway through fun superhero romance, and I really want to give it the attention it deserves.

When the new annual Pride festival launches in this small-town community, Ian is happy to be involved but reluctant to be the lips needed to draw in the crowds at the kissing booth. That is until one man’s lips save him from an uncomfortable moment and end up turning his world on its head.
With miles separating Ian from the future he so desperately wants, he has no idea how he can make it all work out, especially when someone appears to be driving a wedge in his plans.
Some surprises are unexpected, while some revelations come with the sweetest of first—and last—kisses.
Our First and Last is a feel-good sexy M/M romance in Becca Seymour’s bestselling True-Blue series. It can be read as a stand-alone novella, but it’s recommended you read book four, Thinking It Over, first so you have a better understanding of the wonderful characters in this world.

About Becca Seymour
Hey, the first thing you should know is I live and breathe all things book related. Usually I have at least three books being read and two WiPs being written at the same time, which makes life merrily hectic. I tend to do nothing by halves so I happily seek the craziness and busyness life offers.
Living on my small property in Queensland with my human family as well as my animal family of cows, chooks, and dogs, I appreciate the beauty of the world around me and am a firm believer in that love truly is love.
