Change is a part of life. Some changes we embrace, others we fight. Some are fun, others scary. Changing covers is a bit of both.
When we created the covers for Harrison Campus, we didn’t really know what we wanted – or better said, what others would want in a cover. I loved the original covers, but I’ve learned that my taste is probably not the same as most readers. One thing I’ve learned in life, you can’t fight the trend.
Following that sage advice, we have recovered the Harrison Campus series, effective – today.
We asked the cover artist – Cate Ashwood – to give us something more in line with the current trends. Surprisingly, I find I like the current trend, so maybe that scared bit, isn’t so scary. If you like the new covers, let me know in the comments. If you don’t like them, that’s allowed, and you are also welcome to let me know in the comments. And since people like big over small (keep it clean, folks) below are full size images of each cover.
There is also a change in the order of the series. Better Have Heart is the new “Book 1.” We made this change because “Better Be Sure – the original first book – is so different from the others. It’s a single POV, whereas the other four books are dual; it has several subplots not tied to the MCs, the others do not, and last it just wasn’t the strongest trope for a book 1. Since all the books can be read as stand alones, this made more sense as an entry into the series.
I do like the new covers! I loved the originals, too, but the new ones do look a bit fresher. I still love these books!
