Welcome to another week of Author Chat with me. Today’s guest author is an M/M Romance author has both contemporary and paranormal titles and has been writing since 2014. Her stories don’t follow any set guidelines or ideas, but come from her heart and contain love in many forms. I’m thrill to host Lynn Michaels today! Lynn is here today to share with us her holiday book titled Holeshot Christmas – and I do love me some holiday stories, so this one is my speed.
Enough of that, let’s chat with Lynn!
ACwA Guest: Lynn Michaels
How did the first story you ever wrote influence your career as an author and how do you feel about that story now?
Lynn: This is super hard. I started writing stories when I was very young. I think I learned a lot about the craft from simply writing and having teachers give me feedback. I think that’s the most important thing I learned is to get that feedback and use it to make the story better rather than being hurt by it. I try to remember that with every book that’s edited.
Which of your characters is most like you (or someone close to you.)
Lynn: All of my characters have a little part of me in them, but none of them are all that much like me when you look at the whole character. I think the one I’d like to be like the most is Davey McAllister from Holeshot. He’s someone I would look up to. He has integrity and the coolest job ever, racing dirt bikes, and he’s the absolute best at it.
What is your favorite trope and why?
Lynn: Can I say all of them? I love playing with tropes and combining them in new ways. It’s fun to see what I can throw at my characters. If I have to narrow it down, I’d say Gay For You. Because that feels like the ultimate love story. I love this person so much that I don’t care if they’re the same sex. I want to be with them and try to love them the best I can. And oddly, as much as I love that, I haven’t written a lot of that.
How many half-written stories are on your hard-drive and what do you plan to do with them?
Lynn: A ba-zillion. Seriously, I have a lot of stories that need attention and I get more ideas daily. I hope to finish some of them before I die. I have started combining them. I’ll get an idea and then go find something I’ve already written that I can mash up with it.
What are you working on next?
Lynn: More motocross racing! I have a new series coming that’s a spin-off of Holeshot. It’ll have more racing, but it’ll touch on other sports too. It will feature the sports reporter, Jason Gibbons, from the Holeshot series. There will also be special content coming soon as well! But it’s currently top secret. Shh…

Did jumping into marriage too fast put the brakes on their future?
The holiday season has arrived. It’s their first Christmas as a married couple, and newlyweds Davey and Tyler are experiencing more than a few relationship pains. They need to find a new racer for the Apex team, and jealousy over the new addition sparks between them.
They’ve come such a long way, but their relationship progressed faster than souped up dirt bikes. Was it too fast?
The two men are forced to slow down and reexamine their love and what they want for the future because Christmas isn’t all racetracks and dirt bikes.

Thanks very much for the chance to win.
Really love that your favorite trope is one of mine as well. Gay For You is the best for sure.
I also love to read GFY (I think more authors are calling it bi-awakening now) but I know there’s been a lot of controversy over the years about that particular trope.
